Crash!

So, my MacBook Pro’s hard drive up & died about a week ago. This really sucks since I hadn’t backed up my iPhoto library in a couple weeks. I lost all the pics from Sarah’s birthday trip to le jardin d’Acclimatation and our birthday picnic. I have about 3 gigs of pics and movies on my camera awaiting download to the mother ship.

Jackie & Mark are here visiting, so I haven’t had time to run down to the FNAC and buy a new hard drive, let alone install it (which is a lot of fun in a MBP).

So, we went Venice and it was really beautiful. A gondola ride is the perfect place to propose, and that is just what happened (with Mark & Jackie, that is)! The expected “It’s about time!” comments were exchanged and celebratory champagne was popped at a nice little trattoria in Cannaregio. It was a great little vacation and I highly recommend it! Just bring a lot of cash! THey don’t seem to like credit cards at a lot of places and a gondola ride is going to set you back 100 euros.
